Mirpur-11, Kazipara metro rail stations open for commuters

Stations in Shewrapara and Uttara South will be operational by end of this month

Two additional metro rail stations have been made available to the public in Mirpur-11 and Kazipara on the Uttara-Agargaon route.

Commuters could enter the stations from 8:30am on Wednesday.

The Mirpur-11 and Kazipara stations are the sixth and seventh Dhaka metro rail stations currently open to the public.

The stations in Shewrapara and Uttara South will be operational by the end of March.

The metro trains now stop at Uttara North, Uttara Centre, Pallabi, Mirpur-10, Mirpur-11, Kazipara and Agargaon stations.

The trains run from 8:30am to 12:30pm every day of the week except Tuesday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on December 28 inaugurated the country's first-ever metro rail and it was opened to the public the following day.

According to Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), metro rail operations to Motijheel may start by the end of 2024 and Kamalapur by 2025.

By December 2024, the metro rail will start operation from Agargaon to Kamalapur route with 24 trains.
