A three-year-old boy was killed in Dhaka after falling out of a moving rickshaw and being run over by a car.
The accident took place near an Apex showroom in the South Banasree neighbourhood on Thursday, said police.
The victim has been identified as Yusuf, said Inspector Bachchu Mia of the police outpost at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Four others, including the child’s mother and his 10-year-old sister, received minor injuries when the rickshaw carrying them hit a pothole, according to one Sazzad Hossain who was among the locals who rushed the boy to the hospital.
Immediately after Yusuf fell out of the rickshaw, a car ran over him from behind, he said.
