Police have recovered the body of a man from a house in Dhaka’s Motijheel area.
The deceased was identified as Md Morsalin Haque, 27, son of Abul Hashem from Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj.
The body was recovered at 3am on Saturday from a building at the AGB colony area beside Ideal School and College in Motijheel.
Motijheel police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Krishna Das Bairagi confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “There were injury marks around the neck of the deceased. We initially learned that Morsalin had committed suicide by hanging himself. However, we will know the actual reason of death after seeing the autopsy report.”
He added that the body had been sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
However, Yasin, the cousin of the deceased, said Morsalin’s wife Tahmina Islam Tonni used to suspect that Morsalin was involved in an extra-marital affair with his former classmate and so planned to kill him.
On the day of the incident, Tonni was in her father’s house in AGB colony with Morsalin.
Yasin claimed that Tonni’s brothers killed Morsalin as per her plan.
