A village kabiraj (quack) in Narayanganj's Bandar upazila has allegedly raped a housewife in the name of providing medical treatment.
On Tuesday evening, the victim's husband filed a case with the Bandar police station against the quack, confirmed Bandar police station Officer-in-charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha.
The accused, Kamal Mia, 58, is a resident of Sonakanda Enayetnagar area of Bandar upazila.
According to the case and police sources, Kamal Miah was acquainted with the victim's husband and his family, and often went to their house.

The victim's husband spoke to Kamal about not having children even though they had been married for two years.
Kamal went to the couple's house on February 4 at around 12pm, when the husband was out of the house, and raped her.
She kept the matter secret due to fear of public shame, but when she informed her husband about the matter on Monday night, he filed a case with the police station on Tuesday.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Bandar Police Station Deepak Chandra Saha said that they are trying to arrest the accused.
