Two students killed in motorbike crash in Dhaka

Of the deceased, one was a student of Dhanmondi Ideal College while the other one was from Siddheswari Boys High School

Two students have been killed and one injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in the capital.

The accident took place on Mintu Road in Ramna area at 3:15pm on Thursday. 

The deceased are Samir Ahmed, 18, and Yousuf, 17. The injured is Alif, 18.

Samir was a class XI student of Dhanmondi Ideal College and he was from Kadamtali area of Keraniganj while Yusuf was a class X student at Siddheswari Boys High School and his house was in Siddheswari Lane.

Meanwhile, the injured Alif's residence is in Malibagh area and he is a XI grade student at Willes Little Flower School & College.

Ramna Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Md Monirul Islam confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.

He said Samir was riding a motorbike while Yusuf and Alif were in another motorbike. Both motorcycles were going fast when the collision occurred.

All three of them were rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the duty doctor declared Samir and Yusuf dead, he added.

Alif is admitted to the hospital for treatment. The motorbikes were seized, he further added.
