The government has restricted entry at Bangladesh Secretariat to prevent the spreading of coronavirus.
Hundreds of people visit the secretariat every day for different purposes.
“We have not yet closed down outsider entry, but imposed restriction in issuing passes only,” said Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam on Thursday.
The outsiders, who are directly assigned by the ministries, are being allowed at the time only, he added.
“We do not allow outsiders to get entry at secretariat without permission of the ministries concerned," said Rajib Das, additional deputy commissioner, who serves at the head of security of Bangladesh Secretariat.
“Even only listed journalists are being requested to cover the event at secretariat,” he added.
