1 killed in Hatirjheel road accident

Police suspect that the victim was run over by an unidentified vehicle

A man has been killed in a road accident in Dhaka’s Hatirjheel area.

The incident occurred early Friday.

The deceased is Amir Hossain, 30, a driver by profession, and a resident of South Anandanagar area of Badda.

Confirming the matter, Hatirjheel police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Anath Mitra said: “Locals found Amir near Rampura bridge in critical condition and informed the police.

“Later, he was taken to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), where the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 6am.”

Police suspect that Amir was run over by an unidentified vehicle.

The body has been kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy.

A case is yet to be filed over the incident.
