Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) students have given the authorities an ultimatum of seven days to ban all political student organization and their activities in the campus.
The students, protesting over Abrar Fahad's death, revised their eight-point demand to a 10-point demand in this regard on Wednesday.
The new demand includes withdrawal of Sher-E-Bangla Hall provost Md Zafar Iqbal Khan by October 11 and banning politics at the university with seven days.

For the third consecutive day, students protested for justice on Abrar's death.
They gathered in front of the Buet Shaheed Minar and blocked the roads.
Earlier on the day, former and current students of the Electrical and Electronic Department (EEE) of Buet brought out a silent procession from the Shaheed Minar.

On Tuesday night, the administration of Buet agreed to the eight-point demands placed by students protesting Abrar's death.

However, the protesters said the university authorities will have to give the students a written statement stating that their demands will be met.
The students also said they would boycott the upcoming Buet entrance examinations scheduled for October 14 and continue the protest till the charge sheet is filed.

Buet alumni demand VC's resignation
Meanwhile, Buet Alumni have demanded the resignation of university Vice Chancellor Saiful Islam.
They issued a statement, signed by President of Buet Alumni Association Professor Jamilur Reza Chowdhury, with their seven-point demand protesting Abrar’s murder.
The seven-point demand included the overhauling of the administration and the appointment of competent, honest and impartial people to maintain the quality of education.
Abrar, a second year student of electrical and electronic engineering department of the university, was beaten to death on Monday.
Some Chhatra League leaders have been accused of beating him for his alleged involvement with Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami.
Meanwhile, Abrar's father Barkat Ullah filed a murder case against 19 people with Chawkbazar police station on Monday evening.
Later, Bangladesh Chhatra League expelled 11 of its members permanently from the organization for their involvement in Abrar’s murder.
Abrar’s death sparked protest across Bangladesh. The protesters have demanded justice for Abrar and capital punishment for the murderers.
As of now, 13 people have been arrested in the murder case.
