The One-Stop Crisis Centre of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) has said the allegations of rape of a minor domestic help was not found to be true.
"Mother of the alleged victim is lying. There are no injury marks on the girl's body. She was released from the hospital on Thursday," One-Stop Crisis Centre Coordinator Dr Bilkis Begum told Dhaka Tribune.
On Wednesday, a 10-year-old domestic help was admitted to DMCH, and later on-duty doctors transferred her to the hospital's One-stop Crisis Centre.
The girl’s mother told Dhaka Tribune that her daughter started working at the house of her employer - a relative of hers - a month ago.
She also accused the house owners of sexually abusing and torturing her child.
“They tortured and sexually abused my girl while she was at their home. I do not know the name of the householder, but he is a lawyer.”
When contacted, the man’s wife, Ila, also a lawyer, denied the allegations.
