Six members of the same family, including a child, suffered burn injuries after a gas leak triggered an explosion at a house in Dhaka’s Agargaon early Saturday.
The incident occurred at a residence in the Agargaon Paka Market area around 4:30am, police said.
The injured were rescued and taken to the burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Inspector Md Faruk of the DMCH police outpost confirmed the matter.
The injured are Jalil Mia, 50, his wife Aneja Begum, 40, their sons Asif Mia, 19, and Shakib Mia, 16, daughter Monira, 17, and granddaughter Eva, 6.
Afran Mia, the daughter-in-law of the family, said the explosion was caused by a gas line leak, leaving all six family members burnt.
Inspector Faruk said the victims are currently undergoing treatment at the DMCH burn unit.
