A motorcyclist was killed when a bus rammed into his motorcycle near Dhaka’s Malibagh.
The incident occurred in front of the Malibagh supermarket area on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Hemayet Hossain, 35, was a small decoration trader.
Confirming the matter, Rampura police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Yakub Ali told Dhaka Tribune: “Hemayet was returning from Nawabpur when a bus of Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX) rammed into his motorbike, leaving him severely injured.”
He was immediately taken to the Emergency Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH,) where the duty doctors pronounced him dead around 4pm, SI Yakub said.
Police have seized the bus and its driver from the scene. The body has been sent for autopsy, he said.
