Home Minister Assaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said suspended Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s (DMP) Wari Division Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohammad Ibrahim Khan will not be spared if allegations against him are found to be true.

“He was suspended after primarily investigations found evidences of his involvement with the incident. The matter is still under investigation. If the allegations are found to be true, he will not be spared,” he said while replying to queries from journalist at a discussion on National Mourning Day in Wasa Bhaban at Dhaka’s Karwan Bazaar on Wednesday.

On August 26, the government suspended DMP Wari Division DC Mohammad Ibrahim Khan on allegations of accepting bribes in crores of taka in exchange of support for a group of land grabbers.

“Actions will also be taken against any other police official if they are found to be involved with the incident,” the minister added.

Ibrahim, a Bangladesh Civil Service cadre of the 24th batch, was attached to the police headquarters following the suspension order.

During his suspension, he will remain attached to the police department and will receive a per diem allowance under the prevailing rules.
