They were arrested from Dhaka’s Paltan area on Friday evening.

The arrestees are Rasel Ahmed alias Shanto and Nayeem Islam.

They were arrested for their alleged involvement in making and selling fake revenue stamps, said a DMP news portal on Saturday.

The DMP officials recovered counterfeit revenue stamps worth Tk10,200,000, stamp making plates, other machineries, and Hizb ut-Tahrir’s posters, leaflets and various books from their possession.

During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they illegally made government revenue stamps and sold them in various cities of Bangladesh, including Dhaka.

Moreover, Hizb ut-Tahrir's posters, leaflets and various books were printed in the press, the news portal said.
