As part of its extensive security measures to ensure safety during Pohela Boishakh celebrations in Dhaka, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a traffic advisory ahead of the event.
Police will cordon-off venues— around the Dhaka University campus, Ramna Park, the Teachers-Student Centre (TSC), Shahbagh and Suhrawardy Udyan—to ensure smooth celebrations of the first day of the Bangla New Year.
Similar security measures will be taken for the Hatirjheel and Rabindra Sarobar areas.
All vehicles are instructed not to use seven routes in the city.
