The condition of a Feni madrasa student—who is struggling for her life at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH)—has been improved slightly, said the hospital authority.
Confirming the matter on Wednesday, Dr Abul Kalam, chief of the medical board formed for her treatment, told the Dhaka Tribune: “Her condition is slightly better than on Tuesday.”
Saying that no further change in treatment has been made, he said: “We have sent Wednesday’s report to Singapore. No update has come from there so far. They told us to continue the medicine recommended earlier.”

Earlier on Tuesday, a two-hour-long surgery, for compression-related complications, was performed on the Alim examinee from Sonagazi Islamia Fazil (Degree) Madrasa — who was set on fire by four unidentified burqa-clad girls on the madrasa's rooftop.
Following the operation, Dr Kalam said: “This operation is called an escharotomy, and these are only performed on people who have severe burn injuries. This surgery was necessary in order to release compression on her whole body."
On Monday, the madrasa student was put on life support at the burn unit of DMCH.
A case has been filed with Sonagazi police station regarding the incident, according to Officer-in-Charge Md Moazzem Hossen.
Police have detained seven suspects for interrogation.
