Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has stated the government will provide its full support to the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) regarding the massive fire that gutted an Old Dhaka neighborhood.
He announced this while inspecting the fire damage at Nanda Kumar Lane in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area of Old Dhaka around 10:30am.
Kamal said: “The government will provide its full support to Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Sayeed Khokon; to mitigate the loss and damage caused by the fire and to rehabilitate the survivors and family members of the deceased, at Nanda Kumar Lane in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area.
“The government will also provide its full assistance to victims of the disaster and family members of the deceased.”
At least 70 people were killed in a massive fire that has engulfed several multi-storey buildings in Chawkbazar of Old Dhaka.
