4 held with fake SSC question papers in Dhaka

The arrested were also involved in making mark-sheets for different exams

The Detective Branch (DB) of Police (North division) has detained four people for reportedly being involved in fake SSC question paper leaks.

They were arrested from the Fakirapool area in the early hours of Wednesday. 

A laptop, a couple of smart phones, and fake question papers of the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examination were seized from their possession, police said.

The arrested are Md Abdul Fahim, 20, Md Shamim Ahmed, 19, Md Sohel Rana, 17, and Md Nabin Ali, 22.  

Abdul Baten, additional commissioner of DB, during a press briefing at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) media centre, said: “Among the arrested, Fahim was arrested by Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) for the same reason in 2018. 

“After primary interrogation, we found this ring has been leaking question papers of SSC exams, various jobs, and medical and university admission tests, on social media platforms for a long time now.”

“Apart from this, they were also involved in making mark-sheets for different exams and changing exam results. They charged students and guardians Tk500 to Tk30,000 through bKash to for their service,” he added.

This official also said students get confused and easily misled by such of cheating.

Baten further added: “It is necessary for guardians to be aware of this kind of matter.”
