Update : 24 Jul 2018, 03:22 PM

A Thai Airways flight has met with an accident at the Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

Following the incident, flight operations at the airport remain suspended.

A tire of the TG 321 flight back from Bangkok burst on the runway Tuesday afternoon, Tariq Ahmed, senior assistant superintendent of APBN (airport) said.

He said: “The flight was supposed to land at 12:10pm. But it was delayed due to bad weather.”

The plane landed at 12:20pm, the official said, adding that one of the tyres burst while landing.

However, the passengers and crew members are safe, Tariq said.

He said work was underway to remove the plane from the runway.

Flight operations were expected to resume shortly as the rescue operations were almost over, the APBN official added.
