Shape South Asia 2018, a four-day conference, organized by Dhaka Hub of Global Shapers Community, an initiative of the World Economic Forum, began yesterday.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury inaugurated the conference at Lakeshore Hotel, Dhaka.
Some 100 young leaders from six continents, 30 countries and 50 cities assembled for this conference.
With the theme “Shaping Inclusive Societies”, the event aims to cover opportunities and challenges in South Asia, focusing on Bangladesh. Over 25 experts including policymakers, leaders in business and development, and social entrepreneurs will discuss inclusive development, inclusive healthcare, financial inclusion, climate change, sustainable manufacturing, and Bangladesh’s prospects and challenges in embracing the fourth Industrial Revolution, highlighting homegrown innovations.
The shapers will interact with the experts through “meet the leaders” sessions and “rapid talks”. The four-day event will end on April 14, with a celebration of Bangladeshi culture.
