Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Miah has said special security measures have been taken around the Hussaini Dalan Imambara ahead of the Holy Ashura.
He made the remark after visiting the Hussaini Dalan Imambara in Old Dhaka on Thursday.
According to the DMP commissioner, police will form a perimeter around the Tazia procession to avoid any unexpected incidents this year.
He also asked the Shia community to gather in designated areas of the city before the procession starts, as no one will be allowed to join the procession in the middle for security concerns.
