Power and Energy ministry Tuesday has decided to withdraw the pre- conditions in obtaining new electricity connection in solar power.
However, the conditions for the solar power subscribers will be obtained on solar panel setting as per renewable energy regulations and surcharge will also be effective.
The final decision in this regard will come after the approval of Prime Minister, Finance Minister and Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC).
The decision came after a meeting at the power division with Junior Minister Nasrul Hamid in the chair on Monday.
At the meeting, the REHAB leaders and high ups of five distribution committees of power distribution were present.
