'46MW load-shed in 16 days'

Update : 19 Apr 2014, 11:22 AM

Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) data says there was almost no load-shedding in Dhaka from April 1 to April 16.

According to PDB data, there have been only 46 MW deficits on April 7. On that day, the demand for the electricity was 2454MW.

And in the remaining days, the power development board was able to meet the demand with ensuring required supply of electricity, according to BPDB data.

On the contrary, dwellers from different parts of the capital have been complaining of experiencing load-sheds from the beginning of the current month.

They have been suffering from load-shed almost on regular basis at least twice a day, every time which is no less than half an hour.

One Humayun in Pirerbagh, Mirpur, has been facing load-sheds at least twice a day, one hour every time.

Another Tilka who resides in Mohammadpur, has also been meeting load-sheds at least one time a day for at least half an hour.

In the past, day to day activities in Dhaka city without any load-shedding was a dream that many did not dare to think of.

This situation has been improved. Dhaka experienced 58 load-shedding free days dring February and March which is quite unusual.
