Retired Brigadier General Wazy Ahmed Chowdhury has been found dead at his New DOHS residence in the capital’s Mohakhali.
Deceased’s younger son Fuad Ahmed Chowdhury spotted the body around 3:45am on Thursday, reports UNB.
Wazy’s neck, hands and legs were tied up with rope, said deceased’s nephew Reshad Ahmed Chowdhury.
Fuad took him to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) where doctors declared him dead.
Later, a team of Kafrul police recovered the body from CMH and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Police said Wazy might have been strangled to death.
Abdul Ahad, caretaker of Wazy’s house, went into hiding after the incident.
