Assailants have hacked a local Jubo League activist to death at Adarsha village under Sonagazi upazila in Feni early Wednesday.
The deceased is Jashim Uddin, 35, son of local Ward Jubo League President Saidul Hoque of Adarsha village.
Assailants called Jashim out of a house where a marriage ceremony was going on and hacked him to death around 4:30am.
Meanwhile, police have detained Nurul Huda, 50, his son Shumon, 28, Shahed Sharif, 28, Delwar Hossain Bablu, 32, Nizam Uddin, 28 and Sohel, 28, for their suspected involvement with the killing.
Sonagazi model police station Officer-in-Charge (Operation) Abu Jaffar Md Saleh confirmed about the death to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “We are trying to arrest the culprits involved with the killing.”
However, he could not say anything regarding the identity of the detainees.
