The Union Parishad Chairman of Bogra who was arrested for his alleged involvement in the Jubo League activist Shiplu murder case, has been sent to jail on Friday.
Another detainee Shanto was also sent to jail in the case along with Raynagar UP Chairman Feroz Ahmed Rizu.
Md Khalequzzaman, officer-in-charge of Shibganj police station, endorsed the information to the Dhaka Tribune.
“After interrogating Shanto, police raided Rizu's residence and recovered two pistols, two magazines and five-rounds of ammunition on Thursday evening,” said the OC.
Police also spotted signs of blood in the floor of Rizu's residence, he added.
Following information by Rizu, police said Jubo League activist Shiplu might have been killed by a pistol shot while he was repairing two pistols from Rizu.
