Law enforcers recovered a teenage girl’s body from inside a suitcase floating in a ditch in the capital’s Hazaribagh yesterday.
Police said local residents noticed that the blue suitcase was floating on a ditch and informed police.
They recovered it around 3pm and discovered the body inside.
Neither police nor local residents could immediately identify the body.
The girl could be aged between 10 and 13, sources from the police said.
“The body was distorted and decomposed. It was wrapped in a scarf,” said Kazi Moinul Islam, officer-in-charge of the Hazaribagh police station.
The body was sent to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital morgue in the capital for post mortem examination.
