The high-powered probe body ordered by the High Court will carry out a mass hearing on the recent abductions and killings in Narayanganj on May 12 and 15.
The investigation committee chief and also, public administration ministry Additional Secretary, Shahjahan Ali Mollah told the Dhaka Tribune.
The families of the seven people abducted and later found dead in Narayanganj, are now giving their deposition before the committee.
Seven bodies surfaced in Shitalakkhya River on April 30 that included the body of a Narayanganj ward councillor, Nazrul Islam, and lawyer Chandan Sarker.
Autopsy reports say they were murdered by professionals. However, police were yet to trace anyone behind the killings.
Prime accused in the case, local Awami League leader Nur Hossain, has eluded capture.
Nazrul’s family has blamed the elite force RAB for its involvement in the murder, alleging that it took Tk6 crore for the task. Three officials were dismissed after the accusation.
Several probe bodies including one within the RAB have been working on the issue.
