Update : 06 May 2014, 07:56 PM

An employee of the Directorate of Primary Education was arrested yesterday from a government printing press in the capital while he was trying to pocket a question paper of an official test scheduled for Friday.

The employee, Tanvir Ahmed, allegedly took the question paper for a class-IV employee recruitment test from the BG Press at Tejgaon and was attempting to leave the premises with it.

However, workers at the high-security press challenged him on suspicion and found the paper on him.

Tanvir was later handed over to Tejgaon industrial police.

When contacted, Shyamal Kanti Ghosh, director general of the Directorate of Primary Education, said he had directed the police to proceed according to law.

When asked whether the written test will be postponed, the DG said that a decision would be taken today.

The DPE employee was arrested at a time when several investigations are going on into the leakage of question papers of public and recruitment examinations.

Question papers of teacher recruitment tests andother public examshave been leaked recently.

The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education had to postpone the English Second Paper exam last month following allegations of question paper leakage.
