Police have recovered the body of a youth from Gorai river Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia on Saturday morning.
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Locals said the fishermen notice the body when the went to fish in the river around 9am.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body.
Kumarkhali police station Officer-in-Charge Lutfur Rahman said: “Their is no injury marks on the body of the deceased but a lungi was wrapped on his neck.”
“It is being estimated that he had been murdered and later dumped in the river,” he said.
