Two cocktails exploded in the Malibagh Railgate area of the capital on Friday afternoon, but no one was injured.
The incident occurred around 3pm on the main road near Malibagh Railgate under Shahjahanpur Police Station.
Police said unidentified miscreants threw two cocktails from the Malibagh Flyover. The explosives landed on the road below and detonated.
Shahjahanpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Amirul Islam said police were conducting a checkpoint operation on the road when the miscreants threw the two cocktails one after another from the flyover.
“No one was injured in the incident,” he said.
The OC said those below could not identify the attackers. Police are collecting and analysing CCTV footage from the scene and surrounding areas to identify those involved.
“Legal action is being initiated in connection with the incident,” he added.
