Attack reported inside Farmgate metro rail station

An attack incident has been reported inside the Farmgate metro rail station in the capital.

The incident took place at 3:30pm on Tuesday.

Members of law and order forces present at the station told the media that a group of Chhatra League started a march towards Khamarbari from Farmgate chanting slogans.

At that time, seeing a gathering of protesting students at the Khamarbari intersection, Chhatra League activists attacked them with sticks.

Being chased by them, the protesting students ran to the metro rail station to take shelter.

The Chhatra League activists swoop on them inside the station and beat the agitators with sticks, according to witnesses.

At that time, the members of the metro rail police who were present obstructed the Chhatra League activists from the station.

Eyewitnesses said panic spread among the passengers present during the incident.

A team of police was deployed at the station to avoid any untoward situation.
