A group of miscreants shot a United People's Democratic Front (UPDF) supporter to death in Khagrachhari's Panchari upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased is Barun Bikash Chakma, 55, of Kamol Krishno Karbari Para in the upazila.
UPDF's spokesperson, Aongya Marma, confirmed the death.
He said: "Three to four armed members of the Jana Sanghati Samiti (JSS - Santu Larma group) entered the house and shot Barun before fleeing. Barun was our well-wisher. Failing to find our workers, they are killing our supporters."

However, no statement has been received from the JSS Santu Larma group regarding the allegations.
Panchhari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shafiul Azam said: "I have heard about the incident. It is difficult to reach immediately as it is a border area."
