Police said the 20-year-old victim had boarded a bus of “New Gram Bangla Paribahan'' on her way home to Narayanganj’s Chashara area after visiting her sister in Manikganj. The driver of the bus and his assistant dropped the passengers off, excluding the woman, before reaching the last destination of their route.
They then forcibly took her to Nabinagar by the bus, where the driver, his assistant and four others raped her.
After a while, a police patrol team rescued the woman on hearing her screams and detained the six.
The rape survivor, who filed a case with Ashulia police station, was later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for a medical test.
Police have impounded the bus in question.
