Police have filed a case against unnamed persons over the Saturday’s blast that killed six people near the Sylhet militant hideout.
“Sub-Inspector SI Shiplu Chowdhury filed the lawsuit on Sunday night,” Mogholabazar police OC Khairul Fazal told the Dhaka Tribune on Monday morning,
Sylhet Metropolitan Police ADC Jedan Al Musa has confirmed it.
On Saturday, six people including two cops were killed and more than 50 injured after a suicide blast took place Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, an Army Para-Commando Battalion has been conducting “Operation Twilight” in the militant den housed at Atia Mahal in Shibbari area of Sylhet city since Saturday morning.
Law enforcers have kept the building cordoned off from Friday upon receiving information that some militants may be hiding in the building.
After two days raid, Army Headquarters Brig Gen Fakhrul Ahsan said on Sunday afternoon: “Two of the militants inside Atia Mahal have been shot dead by commandos, though more remain.”
“The para-commando operation in the building will continue until the militants were all “neutralised”, he added.
