Police arrested two men in a rape case of a girl child from the Islampur area in Bandarban.
The arrestees are Zakir Hossain and his brother Shahidul Islam, confirmed Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Shahidul Islam.
“After the victim’s father filed a case with the police station in the afternoon [on Thursday], a drive was conducted to arrest the two men,” said Shahidul.
According to the case statement, on Tuesday, few children were playing near a madrasa in the Islampur area of Bandarban when two men from the neighbourhood grabbed the girl, locked her in a room, and raped her.
On Wednesday evening, the child was admitted to the Bandarban Sadar Hospital, the OC said.
