An adolescent boy has admitted that he raped a four-year-old girl in Daganbhuiyan upazila, Feni.
Feni Judicial Magistrate Zakir Hossain recorded the 15-year-old rapist Nazrul Islam Roni’s confessional statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on Sunday.
Confirming the matter, Daganbhuiyan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saleh Ahmed said Roni—son of Abdul Ali of East Hirapur village of the upazila—raped the girl after luring her to a house on Friday night. After hearing the girl scream, neighbors rescued her and brought her to Daganbhuiyan Upazila Health Complex and then Feni Sadar Hospital.
On Saturday night, the victim’s mother filed a case with Daganbhuiyan police station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, accusing Roni. On Sunday afternoon, a police team detained the accused Roni from Silonia Bazar area of the upazila, the OC Saleh added.
Feni Sadar Hospital’s Residential Medical Office (RMO) Abu Taher told Dhaka Tribune that a three-member medical board has been formed to treat the child.
