Seven suspected member of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) have been detained from Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district.
The detainees are Kawsar Hamid, Masudur Rahman, Rashedul Islam, Kamrul Hasan, Neyamat Ullah, Habibur Rahman and Farlul Karim.
Faridganj police station Office-in-Charge (OC) Harun said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a drive at the house of a Saudi expatriate Md Abu Raihanon Saturday night and detained the JMB members.
“We also recovered two laptops, two pendrives and six mobile phones from their possesion.”
He said a case will be filled under Anti-terrorism Act.
