RAB rescued an abducted Thakurgaon man in Ashulia on Friday by tracking phone calls of kidnappers, in an operation evening that ended with four of the perpetrators being shot.
Amanullah Nur Aman, 26, an employee of a private firm in Tongi, was allegedly abducted from a Dhaka-bound BRTC bus from Gazipur in the morning of the day, after the kidnappers had sprayed chemicals that rendered him unconscious.

Dhaka TribuneThe kidnappers demanded a ransom of Tk5 lakh soon after they had taken Aman. Scared for his life, Aman’s family members managed to send TK75,000 through Bikash, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) sources said. After the family reported the incident to RAB, the elite law enforcement unit apprehended six kidnappers, with four of the abductors shot after they reportedly opened fire on the rescue team.

Dhaka TribuneAman was rescued from a house located at Jamgara in Ashulia. Of the kidnappers who suffered bullet wounds in the operation, Rahul, Monir Hossain and Alamgir Hossain were identified. RAB also apprehended two other men named Mohsin and Maruf Hossain. Identity of the sixth man is yet to be known. RAB recovered a pistol and three bullets from the scene.
RAB sources said that Aman was taken to two different locations on the same day.
