“We have increased security measures in Uttara to combat adolescent crime rates,” said the DC.
He made the statement during a press briefing regarding the murder of Adnan, a student from Uttara, at the DMP Media Centre.
Earlier on January 6, a local gang named Disco Boys comprised of teenagers attacked rivals from the Nine Star gang. Adnan, a Nine Star member, was grievously injured during the ambush. The critically injured schoolboy was rushed to an Uttara hospital where he died the same day.
Adnan’s father Kabir Hossain filed a case with Uttara West Police Station naming nine people and accusing 10-12 unidentified others in this regard.
A total of 14 suspects were arrested in connection with the murder.
