Hallmark’s AGM held from village home

The arrestee was - Md Kamrul Hossain, assistant general manager of Hallmark Group. Md Shohidul Islam, officer-in charge of Matlab Dakshin police station, said: “Acting on a secret information that Kamrul Hossain was staying at his village house in the area, a team of police conducted raid at his house yesterday early morning and arrested Kamrul..” Later, police produced him before the court where court sent him to jail in the noon, added the OC. Kamrul was wanted from 2012 over Hallmark Scam. Earlier, February 17, 2016, 19 people, including Hallmark Chairman Jasmine Islam and Managing Director Tanvir Mahmud, were indicted in two out of 11 cases filed for swindling over Tk437 crore out of Sonali Bank without proper documents. The Bangladesh Bank investigation had earlier found that Sonali Bank’s Ruposhi Bangla Hotel branch lent the Hallmark Group Tk3,547 between 2010 and 2012, using fake documents.
