Under Operation Devil Hunt Phase-2, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) have arrested 67 people during raids conducted in different parts of the capital.
Among those arrested, 17 were from Jatrabari Police Station, 28 from Mugda Police Station, 8 from Rupnagar Police Station, 3 from Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, 8 from Hatirjheel Police Station and 3 from Mirpur Model Police Station.
The arrests were made throughout the day on Tuesday (13 January). The information was confirmed by the DMP Media Division.
According to sources at Jatrabari Police Station, police carried out operations in various areas under the station’s jurisdiction on Tuesday and arrested 17 individuals. They are: Md Ripon (25), Md Abhi (22), Shahadat Hossain alias Abhi (25), Md Ripon (27), Rakibul Islam (34), Rina (28), Nazma Begum (48), Abu Sayeed (38), Arif Hossain (30), Al Imran (30), Shahin (30), Jewel (28), Arafat (37), Mahmudul Hasan alias Sohel (47), Kamrul Islam (38), Md Rabbi (25) and Sona Mia (33).
Sources at Mugda Police Station said that 28 individuals were arrested during raids in crime-prone areas on Tuesday. They are: Ramzan Ali (55), Md Roni (22), Md Rana (27), Russell Hossain (28), Sujon (19), Saikat Ahmed Hridoy (21), Monir Hossain (30), Sakib alias Nenda (24), Afzal Hossain (48), Mahin Ahmed alias Al-Amin (30), Rezman (56), Monir (55), Sujon (35), Shipon (45), Md Rimon (39), Md Suman (42), Kamal (30), Parvez alias Kalam (50), Sheikh Suman Mia (43), Md Majharul (35), Md Liton (40), Nasir Uddin (50), Mujibur Rahman, Md Jafar (65), Md Nazir (25), Md Kabir Hossain (53), Shahazad alias Saja (60) and Monir (52).
According to Rupnagar Police Station, eight individuals were arrested on Tuesday in connection with previous cases and other criminal activities. They are: Zahid Hasan (20), Md Robi (27), Md Ashiqur Rahman Ashiq (26), Abdur Rahman (19), Riyad Ahmed (31), Md Yamin (24), Md Sayem (19) and Jahangir Alam (37).
Sources at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station reported that three individuals were arrested during operations on Tuesday. They are: Hafizul Sheikh (42), Zahidul Islam (50) and Jewel (38).
Meanwhile, Mirpur Model Police Station sources said three people were arrested during raids in various areas. They are: Masum Ahmed (31), Yasin (21) and Nayan (30).
According to Hatirjheel Police Station, eight individuals were arrested during operations on Tuesday. They are: Al Amin Rahman (26), Fahim (20), Iman Hossain (19), Robiul (24), Md Mainuddin (28), Md Rabbi (19), Md Raihan (22) and Imran Mia (24).
Police said that all those arrested have been sent to court.
