Molla Nazrul Islam, former deputy inspector general (DIG) of police and former superintendent (SP) of Sylhet police Abdul Mannan have been suspended.
The Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs issued two separate notifications regarding their suspension on Monday.
Molla Nazrul, who previously served as the commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), is currently attached to the Rajshahi Sarda Police Academy.
According to the notification, DIG Molla Nazrul Islam was arrested on February 9 and subsequently produced before a court.
SP Abdul Mannan was attached to the Rangpur Range DIG office after his arrest on February 9, as per another notification.
Later, he was sent to jail after being produced before a court in Sylhet.
Both individuals were suspended in accordance with Section 39(2) of the Government Service Act, 2018.
