A Dhaka court on Tuesday summoned Tapashee Tabassum Urmi, suspended assistant commissioner of Lalmonirhat, in a defamation case filed in connection with making derogatory comments about the Chief Advisor
The court asked her to appear before it on November 28.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Zakir Hossain passed the order, accepting the defamation case filed against Urmi for allegedly making derogatory remarks about anti-discrimination movement martyr Abu Sayed and others.
Gono Odhikar Parishad higher council member Abu Hanif filed the case on Tuesday.
According to the case documents, the accused, despite being a government official, made a derogatory post about Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement, on her Facebook account.
She vehemently criticized the head of present government and threatened to topple it, the complainant added.
Tapashee Tabassum Urmi has been suspended following her post on Facebook.
Earlier, she was made special officer on duty (OSD).
On Saturday, Tapashee wrote on Facebook: "The chief adviser of the constitutionally baseless interim government has said a reset button has been pushed. The past is erased. He deleted all the past history of the country by clicking a reset button. So simple. The countdown has begun for you, sir."
When asked about the post, Tapashee said: "I shared the post on Facebook, which should be enough to explain. I had set it to 'only me' on Facebook, so the transfer could be due to various reasons. If I lose my job because of it, I will be fine with that. But what does pressing the reset button to delete the past mean? I believe forces against the Liberation War are present in the form of governance in our country. The July massacre and other events require investigation, as they are not yet proven facts."
