The Dhaka court has issued a travel ban for former captain of the Bangladesh cricket team and former Manikganj-1 MP, Naimur Rahman Durjoy, and his wife, Farhana Rahman.

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) submitted a request for their travel ban on Thursday.

After the hearing, the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain issued the order.

Aminul Islam, assistant director (Prosecution) of the ACC, confirmed the matter.

The application states that Naimur Rahman Durjoy is currently under investigation for allegations of misusing power, involvement in recruitment irregularities, and embezzling government funds to acquire assets beyond known income, both in his name and in the names of family members.

The investigation is crucial for the state's interest in preventing money laundering. During the investigation, it was learned that the individuals involved were attempting to flee the country. If they escape abroad, there is a possibility that the investigation process will be prolonged or hindered, it said.
