A Dhaka court granted bail to BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu in three separate cases at Paltan police station in the capital.
The court of Dhaka Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Sultan Sohag Uddin gave this order after the hearing on Tuesday afternoon.
On February 18, the same court ordered Dudu's bail in five more cases. Shamsuzzaman Dudu's lawyer Masud Ahmed Talukder confirmed the information.
He said that because of the bail in these three cases, his bail was granted in all the cases. Therefore, there was no obstacle for him to be released from prison.
A group of 15-20 people identifying as detective police picked up Shamsuzzaman from his elder sister's Cantonment house at around 12am on November 5. The next day, the court ordered three remands in the case of attack on the chief justice's residence, attack on police and killing of policemen. After the remand, he was sent to prison on November 9. He had been in prison ever since.
