A Dhaka court on Monday placed the driver and the helper of Victor Classic Paribahan on a two-day remand each in a case filed over the death of a student of Northern University, Nadia Akhtar, who was hit by a bus in the capital on Sunday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Syed Mostafa Reza Noor granted the remand for the bus driver Md Liton and helper Md Abul Khayer in the case.
Earlier in the day, Md Al Imran Razon, sub-inspector of Vatara police station, also the investigation officer of the case produced them before the court seeking a 7-day remand for interrogation.

Opposing the remand pleas, defence lawyer filed two separate petitions seeking bail for the accused in the case.
After hearing, the court rejected their bail prayers and placed them on the 2-day remand in the case.
The 24-year-old student, Nadia, was killed after being hit by a bus in the capital's Baridhara area on Sunday.
She was a first-year student of the university's pharmacy department.
The incident took place at around 1pm near Jamuna Future Park shopping mall.
Police arrested the driver and assistant of the bus that hit and killed a Northern University student in Dhaka on Sunday.
Earlier on Sunday night, the victim's father, Jahangir Alam, filed a case with the Vatara police station.
