Four men were sentenced to death for killing a woman after raping her in Chandpur.
Judge Jannatul Ferdous Chowdhury of the Woman and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal passed the punishment on Tuesday.
The accused was also fined Tk50,000 and in default, they have to serve additional six months in jail.
The condemned convicts include Zia, Kamal Miaji, Abul Bashar and Mahmuda Akter, all from Rasulpur village
Of them, Mahmuda was tried in absentia.
According to the prosecution, on May 21, 2013, police recovered the body of Rahima from a maize field in Matlab South upazila of the district.
During the investigation, police came to know that Mahmuda had enmity with Rahima over money.
As per Mahmud’s plan, the other convicts took Rahima to the maize field where they killed her after rape.
The victim's father filed a complaint at Matlab South police station the next day.
