Death of siblings: Pest control company MD, chairman denied bail

On June 8, the court remanded them for three days after the hearing

A Dhaka court denied bail to the chairman Ashrafuzzaman and managing director (MD) Farhadul Amin of pest control service company DCS Organization Limited in connection to the death of two children due to “pesticide poisoning through inhalation” in Bashundhara residential area of Dhaka.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain's court gave the order on Tuesday.

On June 8, the court remanded them for three days after the hearing. After the remand, the court ordered to send them to jail on June 12. Spray man Titu Molla is in jail after remand in this case.

On the night of June 3, both of the children – Shahir Mobarrat Zayan, 9, and Shayan Mobarrat Zahin, 15 – were taken to Evercare Hospital in critical condition after being poisoned by pesticide. After the condition worsened, they are placed in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital. Zayan died on June 4 while Shayan died on June 5 while undergoing treatment there.

The parents of the siblings were also hospitalized, but fortunately, their condition did not deteriorate any further.
