A Dhaka Court on Sunday sent Dhallywood actor Eka to jail after police pressed charges of torturing her house help and possession of narcotics against her.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Mohammad Jasim sent her to jail on Sunday, when the Hatirjheel police sought a six-day remand in the two cases.
Defence counsels moved a petition for bail and another seeking to scrap the remand plea by investigators.

The court denied her bail and rejected the police's petition to interrogate the suspect in custody.
Eka was arrested from her apartment in the capital’s Hatirjheel on Saturday after neighbours called 999 to report the torture of house help Hazera Akhter.
Police seized five yaba tablets, some cannabis and a bottle of liquor from her house.
The Haterjheel police started two cases against the actor -- one for torture and the other under the Narcotics Control Act.
