A Dhaka court on Wednesday has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police to probe a case against singer Mainul Ahsan Noble filed under the Digital Security Act.
Judge Mohammad Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain of Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka passed the order after taking the case into cognizance and recorded the plaintiff’s statement.
After recording the statement of the complainant, the court directed the CID to submit a report before the court after investigation into the allegation.
Shamim Al Mamun, bench assistant of the cyber tribunal, said the court asked the CID to submit a report before it by July 6.
Earlier in the day, Musician Isha Khan Ethun Babu filed the case against Noble with the Cyber Tribunal in Dhaka on charges of making derogatory comments about him and circulating those on Facebook.

Shamim Al Mamun, bench assistant of the cyber tribunal said the court directed the CID to investigate the case and submit a report before the court by July 6.
According to the case, singer Noble made some derogatory posts against the musician Ethun Babu and other noted artists of the country on his verified Facebook page in May this year.
On May 17 , a A general diary (GD) was filed with the Kalabagan police station in Dhaka by Somoy Media Ltd, seeking necessary action against singer Mainul Ahsan Noble for allegedly threatening Somoy TV journalist Al Kachir.
Noble, who is not new to controversies, has recently come under fire for a series of social media posts trolling iconic musician Faruq Mahfuz Anam James. Later, he claimed that his account had been hacked.
